Here is Laura with, yep you guessed it, a computer.
He is in a fort under a plastic layer (i offered to bring tin foil from home) to keep him warm.
This is the little guy with his hat on.
Noah has shown remarkable improvement from day 1 to day 2. It’s amazing how much changes from day to day. Of course we’re talking about baby steps, but every little bit counts! He’s breathing more on his own, he needs less oxygen supplied to him, and he’s out of the plastic bubble, which Sami has affectionately termed the “taco bowl.” I think it looks more like a biodome, but we’re both glad to see it gone. In plain terms, it means he’s doing better at regulating his temperature on his own, so he doesn’t need the extra shield. Instead, he now lives in a towel fort covered in Saran Wrap. That’s pretty much a literal description of his bed in NICU.
There are of course many other things I could talk about that have happened today, particularly about Noah’s dear aunts heading back to New Orleans – I am so glad they were able to come on such very short notice – but we’ll cover some of those topics and issues in future posts. For now, let’s just say he’s improving, and we are very happy parents.
