Nile on one side, Lake Nassar on the other. Truthfully, being on top the dam is kind of meh, but it is pretty cool.
We took a boat out to this temple, which apparently was under water at some point in time after the dam was built. I believe we were told that it, like the temples of Ramses II and Neferteri, was raised higher than the water level. The temple is expansive. Everywhere you turn, there’s another room, or set of steps.
We took a carriage ride back from our walk to the pharmacy. It was way cooler than it sounds. Also, we managed to get Martha, Badia, Sara, Valentina, Maya, the driver and me all into the carriage, which was pretty impressive, I thought. And not unlike a clown car.
Somebody got hold of my camera.
Temple of Ramses II.
Temple of Neferteri, or other temple mostly of Ramses II and kind of Neferteri, too. He has as many statues of himself on this one, perhaps more, but it’s technically hers. Also, I have no idea who the person in the photo is.
Santa had no problem finding the kids in Cairo.
Martha and Badia were sweet enough to get a tree.
Maya Checking out what Santa brought.
